About The Event
A new academic journey began on a heartwarming note at SFS Guwahati as the school organized a special programme to welcome the youngest members of its family, students of Grades Nursery, LKG, and UKG. The event was held on 20th April 2026 at the Assembly Ground, Mermier Block, around 8.00 am creating a vibrant and cheerful atmosphere for both students and parents.
The morning commenced with a warm introduction, highlighting the significance of new beginnings and the excitement that comes with stepping into a new learning environment. The presence of Rev. Father Melvin Parambukattil (Principal), Rev. Father Sibin (Vice-Principal, Mermier Block), staff and parents made the occasion even more special.
The programme officially began with a soulful prayer song, invoking the blessings of the Almighty for the little ones as they embark on their educational journey. This was followed by a delightful welcome message by Samyukta Bhagawati of Grade I-D, whose innocent yet heartfelt words set a comforting tone for the newcomers.
Addressing the gathering, Rev. Father Melvin Parambukattil shared his inspiring thoughts, encouraging the young learners to embrace school life with curiosity, confidence, and joy. His message reassured parents and students alike about the nurturing and supportive environment of the school.
Adding a moment of pride and celebration to the event, a Prize Distribution Ceremony was held for the winners of the Humming Bird Olympiad. Rev. Father Melvin and Rev. Father Sibin felicitated the achievers with medals, applauding their dedication and excellence. The ceremony served as a motivation for all students to strive for academic and personal growth.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the school leadership, staff, students, and parents for their unwavering support and cooperation. The programme came to a close with the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and meaningful morning around 9.10 am.
