Resolution No. 2: Stop Procrastinating

Procrastinating is a common problem. We all know that and many students procrastinate. However, by paying greater attention to which assignments are crucial and much important or even by properly accounting for the expected amount of time needed to complete assignments, procrastinator students can feel less stressed and not panic. This will not make you stay awake till 4 am to finish the assignments or study under pressure. Because when you will start knowing and believing the benefits of not procrastinating you will really finish on time.

Manage your time by watching less television or staying online checking out stuff on social media, browsing the internet less when it is not important, Keep aside your distractions (which majorly includes your smartphone) during study hours. It is fun to stream movies and short clips for hours on end, but students should learn to make their time useful while adhering to their schedules for studies and other important daily tasks. Some ways will also temporarily prevent you from accessing your social media profiles. Form a study group where you all are required to put your phones in a pile to keep each other accountable and focus on your study time.

Another important strategy to prevent yourself from procrastinating is not to set unrealistic goals for yourself. Always do the 5 minutes of keeping things ahead and prepared so that it doesn't pile up later. Before you even realise it, hours of work will have gone into research or brainstorming making the assignment much less daunting.

Resolution No. 3: Manage your social media skillfully

Always scrutinise yourself by taking the needed time, scrutinising your actions and what you showcase on social media. Take time and craft your online personal brand before potential employers and audience and get the chance you have been waiting for. While your contacts might love seeing the photos from your friend’s party, your potential employers or your targeted audience to promote your skill might not always be interested in it. Students are encouraged to be themselves and be genuine but at the same time, they must also be mindful to remain professional online. Do not post things that might backfire or even shatter your image.

But yes, it doesn't mean that you must not share a little humour now and then with your online friends, but always remain cautious about sharing it anywhere and everywhere.

Resolution No. 4: Eat Better

Yes, this is an important thing even it might not sound so. As a student and young, your body is constantly growing and for it to grow in a healthy way it is important to eat healthy—especially during the school year. Students are apt to eat poorly as they rush to classes and other academic and extracurricular activities. The problem with this is that the junkies at noon, the soda while coming back home, and the burger with friends.

Resolution No. 5: Exercise

We all remember that exercising is important only when we see negative changes in our bodies. But students should consider claiming this resolution for the new year as a new start. Exercise promotes clear and positive brain function, enables student-athletes to excel, and supports a healthy immune system which will give positive outcomes in your growth and development.

Plan some group exercises activities which will also be a great way to meet friends and practise good stress management. It’s often thought of as a waste of time or distraction from your studies to do these kinds of activities, but nothing could be farther from the truth that exercising actually helps. A good balance of activities actually strengthens all the others. However, exercising is not only sweating in the gym but anything that keeps your muscles moving. Try Zumba, hula hooping or bird-watching if you like adventures. Anything will work!

Resolution No. 6: Pay Attention to Important Tasks

We already discussed the problems of procrastinating much on academic activities and assignments but we must not miss out on this for important details as well. Waiting until the last minute to get things done is a bad idea. Always. It is crucial to adhere to a timely schedule wherever it matters. It will help avoid annoyance and stress.

Attention to detail is a trait you will carry for the rest of your life that will be so much beneficial to you.

Resolution No. 7: Take care of your Mental Health, Stress, and Anxiety

Covid had made the school year 3even more a challenging time for the students. The struggles in juggling assignments, tests, projects, tuitions, extracurricular activities, sports and social life can become overwhelming. Never feel embarrassed to reach out for help, when needed. While it is important to effectively complete tasks, it is equally as important to curb stress and take a break every few hours to unwind the overloaded mind. Take to your school counsellor or parents whenever you feel the need. Even your trustable friend can be of great help at times. Prioritize your peace of mind and mental health.

Resolution No. 8: Be Confident in class

While many students are comfortable speaking up in class or chiming in on an online discussion, other students might struggle with this. But always remember that there is so such thing called dumb questioning. Ask if anything is not cleared out to you. Do not hesitation to share your point of view. Speaking one’s mind in the classroom is a good way to get the teacher's attention and show them that you are following along in class whatever they are teaching.

Resolution No. 9: Submit all your assignments on time

Many students find it tough to complete homework and assignments on time. Remember your teacher are not there to babysit you and remind you all the time to complete your tasks. Be smart and responsible enough to complete the given tasks on time so that you maintain a good academic record.

Resolution No. 10: Build a better relationship with your teachers

Always try to maintain a good relationship with your teacher not only because they are your mentors but also because you will also get recommendations whenever needed in the future if you succeed in maintaining a good relationship. However, it doesn't mean to butter your teachers but actually, prove your worth to them along with being approaching and respectful.
